About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Planning Officer (CPO) to provide executive leadership in long-range planning, service development, and community-focused planning initiatives. The CPO will be a strategic advisor, leading the development and implementation of agency-wide strategic and service plans, and ensuring alignment with the evolving needs of the communities served. Key responsibilities include overseeing transit development, guiding data-driven decision-making, representing the company in regional planning efforts, and leading community engagement to support economic development and connectivity. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, adept at building partnerships, and will foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the planning division. The ideal candidate for the CPO position at the company will have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with a preference for an advanced degree, and at least 9 years' experience in planning, transit development, or strategic planning, including supervisory experience. Desirable qualifications include a background in the public sector or transportation industry. The role requires a professional with a proven track record in strategic and long-range planning, transit planning, data-driven decision-making, and policy development. The candidate should be adept at leading and managing multidisciplinary teams, navigating complex political environments, and advancing innovative approaches to transportation planning and service delivery. Strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to inclusive planning practices are essential for this position.
