ABINGTON NEUROLOGICAL ASSOCIATES Advanced Practice Provider - Neurology Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) Suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | Full-Time Specialty: Neurology Experience: 2-4 years neurology/neuroscience required Position Summary Abington Neurological Associates (ANA) is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and clinically skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our established neurology practice. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our neurologists and clinical team to provide comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and ongoing management of adult patients with a broad range of neurological conditions. Candidates may be either a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C). Previous training/experience in neurology is required. The position offers the opportunity to practice in a collaborative environment with physician mentorship, experienced clinical support staff, and exposure to a diverse neurological patient population. Key Responsibilities Evaluate and manage new and established patients with neurological conditions under the direction and collaboration of ANA neurologists. Obtain comprehensive medical and neurological histories and perform appropriate physical and neurological examinations. Develop differential diagnoses and evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with supervising/collaborating physicians as appropriate. Order, review, and interpret laboratory studies, diagnostic imaging, and other appropriate diagnostic testing within the APP's scope of practice. Provide follow-up care for patients with acute and chronic neurological disorders. Manage medications, including initiation, adjustment, monitoring, and refills, in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and practice protocols. Educate patients and families regarding neurological diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, testing, disease progression, and appropriate follow-up. Recognize changes in patient condition requiring physician consultation, urgent evaluation, or escalation of care. Coordinate patient care with neurologists, primary care physicians, specialists, therapists, hospitals, pharmacies, and other healthcare professionals. Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic medical record. Support continuity of care through appropriate communication of test results, treatment recommendations, and follow-up plans. Participate in practice quality-improvement, patient-safety, and clinical workflow initiatives. Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CMS, payer requirements, and applicable federal and Pennsylvania healthcare regulations. Participate in APP training, continuing education, competency assessment, and professional development activities. Perform other clinical responsibilities within the APP's education, training, licensure, credentialing, and ANA-approved scope of practice. Neurological Conditions May Include Headache and migraine disorders Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders Epilepsy and seizure disorders Multiple sclerosis and neuro-immunological disorders Neuropathy and neuromuscular disorders Stroke and cerebrovascular disease Dementia, memory disorders, and cognitive impairment Dizziness and balance disorders Tremor Sleep-related neurological disorders Other acute and chronic neurological conditions Qualifications Required Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program. Training and clinical experience (2-4 years) in neurology or neuroscience. Current or eligible Pennsylvania licensure as a CRNP or Physician Assistant. Current national board certification applicable to professional discipline. Current BLS certification. Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate prescriptive authority, DEA registration, and other credentials when required for the position. Ability to obtain and maintain credentialing with hospitals and third-party payers as applicable. Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a physician-led multidisciplinary healthcare team. Preferred Experience managing patients with chronic or complex neurological conditions. Previous outpatient specialty practice experience. Familiarity with neurological medications, diagnostic testing, and treatment protocols. Experience with electronic health record systems. Experience working collaboratively with physicians and other Advanced Practice Providers. Neurology experience is required. Candidates with appropriate clinical experience, strong training in neurology, and a demonstrated willingness to participate in structured specialty training will be considered. Schedule and Call Responsibilities Standard practice hours are generally 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. APP call responsibilities include scheduled weekend daytime coverage in collaboration with the physician call schedule. No overnight APP call. Scheduling and call responsibilities are subject to practice needs and may be modified as necessary.
