Dosimetrist PLEASE NOTE: this is NOT a remote role, and we are looking for someone who will work out of our cancer center in Las Cruces. Schedule: this is a PRN role that will assist with coverage when our full-time staff is out. How you'll contribute A Dosimetrist who excels in this role provides medical dosimetry services for patient treatment planning in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist's prescription. Additional responsibilities include: Devises a treatment plan by means of computer and/or manual computation that will deliver the prescribed dose to a defined tumor volume in collaboration with the medical physicist. Performs dose calculations and assures complete, accurate, and timely recording of all data on all charts and forms. Instructs the technical staff in the implementation of the treatment plan. Assists in planning of compensating filters, custom shields, wedges, blocks, and other beam modifying devices in collaboration with the Medical Physicist. Assists in the selection and evaluation of purchase requests involving radioactive materials or radiation producing equipment. Maintains records of daily treatment and other records as required. Records charges accurately for procedures performed and submits charges in the Record & Verify system. Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.
