In addition, FirstHealth has received numerous accolades for its patient care and outcomes, including recognitions from Healthgrades, U.S. News & World Report, and Becker's Healthcare.Uses an appropriate problem-solving approach to plan servicesProvides cleaning support to non-patient areas without direct supervisionCleans and maintains storage areas ensuring they are free from waste and debrisProvides services with consideration of the physical, psychosocial, cultural/spiritual, and age-specific needs of those servedCleans patient rooms adequately and in a timely manner according to department guidelinesCleans exam rooms adequately and in a timely manner according to department guidelinesUses equipment and supplies correctlyDemonstrates proper use of equipment by providing quality floor care in their assigned areasCleans and maintain department equipment used in the daily completion of job dutiesUses appropriate safety and infection control measuresWhile cleaning, the Environmental Aide checks the rooms for inoperative furnishings or fixtures, and reports problems to the department directorCollects trash and soiled linen from assigned areas, transporting to collection or disposal siteTeaches, directs, advises and informs others in an appropriate mannerThe Environmental Aide assists their supervisor with training of new employeesReports and records information correctlyAfter cleaning patient rooms, the Environmental Aide signs off that the rooms have been cleaned and leaves a tent card in each of the roomsAnswers and responds to pages in a timely and courteous mannerAdditional skills: Effective communication skillsWorking conditions: Constant exposure to chemicals; infectious situations; exposed to blood, body fluids, and their associated odors; frequent stressful situationsPhysical requirements: Medium workLifting 50 pounds maximumFrequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighting up to 25 poundsGood vision and depth perceptionAge groups served: All ages from birth to senior adultQualifications: Diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Experience preferred from a professional setting.
