Position Overview and QualificationsThe Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring the delivery of exceptional, patient-focused care and overseeing all operations within the unit or department during their assigned shift. Working alongside other management team members, the CNC directs, assesses, and evaluates nursing practices in line with established protocols, serves as a resource for staff, and exemplifies a commitment to our organization’s vision, mission, and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes, thereby improving overall departmental performance.
Key responsibilities in this role include:
- Facilitating admission and discharge processes to promote efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
- Engaging in continuous evaluation of the quality of care provided in the unit, collaborating with management team members.
- Working with subject matter experts and fellow managers to foster a collaborative environment that enhances outcomes and service delivery.
- Embracing a patient-first philosophy and participating in service recovery when necessary.
- Contributing to staff engagement initiatives by implementing current nursing strategies, such as employee rounding and hourly check-ins.
- Providing input on the recruitment, selection, and training of new staff. Recommending and executing actions related to training, conflict resolution, compliance with personnel policies, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures to ensure a competitive organization.
- Assisting with staff scheduling and managing labor resources in accordance with patient care requirements and productivity standards.
- Overseeing inventory management and assisting with the procurement of supplies and equipment.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in nursing.
No travel is required for this position.
