Options Veterinary Care, a nonprofit clinic, is seeking a full‑time veterinarian to join our team of veterinary professionals who provide quality, affordable care to pets who would otherwise suffer without. Responsibilities Examine animals to assess general physical condition and diagnose diseases or injuries. Treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds, or performing surgery. Prioritize traumatic injuries and serious illnesses to ensure timely care. Collect body tissue, feces, blood, urine, or other fluids for analysis. Inoculate animals against diseases such as rabies or distemper. Build positive relationships with clients and counsel them about conditions, deaths, or euthanasia decisions. Operate diagnostic equipment such as radiographic or ultrasound machines and interpret images. Advise animal owners on sanitary measures, feeding, general care, and treatment options. Establish and conduct quarantine/testing procedures to prevent disease spread, complying with applicable regulations. Euthanize animals when necessary. Determine protocols for medical procedures. Maintain timely and accurate records. Train and oversee staff members who handle or care for animals. Collaborate with clinic managers to ensure quality healthcare operations. Maintain up‑to‑date medical and professional knowledge and skills. Qualifications DVM or VMD degree from an accredited university. Nevada veterinary license. Three years of experience in a veterinary clinic preferred. Live in the Greater Reno/Sparks, Nevada area or willing to relocate.
