LIBRARY TECHNICAL ASSISTANT (SAFETY)
Valley State Prison
Job Description and Duties
Under the guidance of a Senior Librarian or Librarian, incumbents in this classification perform specialized subprofessional duties, such as precataloging, interlibrary loans, book acquisition, and locating simple bibliographic information within the library system of a State correctional facility.
Such work primarily requires a practical knowledge of library functions and services and an ability to apply standard library tools, methods, and procedures within well-defined standards. You must have taken and passed the Library Technical Assistant (Safety) examination, be a current state employee with lateral transfer eligibility, or have reinstatement eligibility in order to apply.
Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for these positions.
