Job TitlePatient Access RepresentativeEmployment TypeFull timeShiftEvening ShiftDescriptionORIENTATION/TRAINING IS DAYSHIFT 8A-4:30P MON-FRI FOR 2 WEEKS May include time in Springfield at Mercy Medical Center More details belowPosition PurposeThe Patient Access Representative is responsible for pre-registration, registration and admission functions in the Emergency Department at Saint Mary's HospitalWhat you will doPerform complete and accurate pre-registrations, registration, and admission functionsVerify insurance requirements, obtain and understand insurance benefitsSecure signatures and all other key information needed to complete billing and collection functionsCollect or arrange for co-insurance and/or other deposit payment amountsRefer self-pay patients to financial counselors; answers patient questionsMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent, college preferredMedical terminology skillsRelevant medical office, hospital / physicians billing or patient registration experience preferredBi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferredPosition Highlights and BenefitsFull time 32hrs on eves 3p-11:30p including every other weekend and holiday. May involve rotating into other shifts.
