Job Title: Lead Medical Assistant - OBGYN Department: Ambulatory Services | Maternal Fetal Medicine at Outpatient Care East Scope of Position A Medical Assistant is responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the medical office or hospital. This position will support physicians, providers, nurses, and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, documentation, and communication with a focus on patient experience, quality, and efficiency. The role includes clinical orientation for all Medical Assistants and externs, education on clinical standards and policy, and provision of feedback as necessary. Position Summary The Medical Assistant will support the patient care treatment process by assisting physicians, nurse practitioners, and other clinical staff in the appropriate delivery of patient care services. The Medical Assistant may be expected to perform multiple advanced clinical support tasks without supervision. Responsibilities include collecting and preparing laboratory specimens, disposing of contaminated supplies, sterilizing medical instruments, arranging examining-room instruments and equipment, maintaining supplies and equipment, keeping waiting and examining rooms neat and clean, verifying patient information, recording medical history, confirming purpose of visit, preparing patients for examination, performing preliminary physical tests, and reporting patient history summary. Minimum Required Qualifications High School graduate and successful completion of a Medical Assistant Training Program. Medical Assistant certification required with the approved certifications (i.e. CMA, NRCMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA). 4 years of relevant experience required; 6 or more years preferred. Additional Information Job Level: T4 Lead The university will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position. This position will be at New Albany two days and 3 at Outpatient Care East. The clinic will be open starting two days as we ramp up. Location: Ohio State Outpatient Care New Albany (1027) Position Type: Regular Scheduled Hours: 40 Shift: First Shift Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
