GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support students in general education, special education, and vocational classrooms to promote access to instruction and participation in learning activities. Assist classroom teachers and special educators with whole-class, small group, and individualized instruction. Provide inclusion support to ensure students with disabilities can meaningfully access curriculum and classroom activities. Work with individual students or small groups to support academic progress, organizational skills, and completion of classwork or homework. Support the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) under the supervision of certified staff. Collect observational and instructional data related to student progress, behavior, and classroom participation as directed by supervising staff. Communicate and collaborate with special education teachers, general education teachers, counselors, and related service providers regarding student progress. Assist with organizational tasks, documentation, and classroom materials as needed. Provide supervision and support for students in assigned classes, X-block groups, or other settings as required. Maintain confidentiality regarding student and personnel matters. Follow and reinforce classroom management practices and school discipline policies. Perform other duties as assigned by supervising staff or administration.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of two years of study at an institution of higher education or an Associate’s degree. Demonstrated ability to support classroom instruction under the direction of licensed teachers and special education staff. Ability to work effectively with students with diverse learning needs, including students with disabilities. Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and families. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and school policies. Willingness to participate in professional development and ongoing training related to supporting students with disabilities and inclusive instructional practices. Must possess a valid Massachusetts driver’s license and/or a US Passport. Job Requirements

GENERAL INFORMATION:

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the direction and supervision of the Director of Student Services in conjunction with the Principal. HOURS: 7:30 to 2:30 per school day, all faculty meetings, and mandatory training. BENEFITS: 15 sick days annually, 3 personal days, and health and dental plans are available, with the county paying 70% of premiums. A $10,000.00 life insurance policy while an active employee. Upon retirement, it reduces to a $5,000.00 benefit. REPRESENTATION: The American Federation of Teachers represents teachers and support staff of Norfolk County Agricultural High School. POLICY: Finalists are subject to a Criminal Offender Record Information Check (CORI), Sex Offender Registry Information Check (SORI) and Fingerprint Based Record Check in accordance with and as required by Massachusetts State law, which is satisfactory to NCAHS. In addition to a completed application, each candidate must provide current, pertinent, written references from three sources who were in a position to evaluate the applicant's performance on the job in accordance with all applicable state and federal rules and regulations, and in compliance with M.G.L. c. 6, §§ 167-178 and 803 CMR §§ 2.00.
