Position Summary The Imaging Manager is accountable for the effective ongoing day‑to‑day operations of the Imaging Department. This role maintains a high standard of patient care and staff performance across all shifts and modalities, establishes policies and procedures, and develops and maintains a positive work environment. Essential Job Functions Evaluate current processes to ensure effective fulfillment of objectives. Plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures necessary for quality care and sound operation. Accountable for all operational aspects of running the department. Manage staff, budget, and maintain relationships with referring offices; handle all customer service issues. Meet quality and financial goals; monitor performance and profitability of services offered. Develop and manage the department budget; handle accounts payable, payroll and associate timecards. Work closely with revenue cycle management on reimbursement rates, claim denials, etc. Assist Director of Operations with financial decisions and partner with local management to exceed financial goals. Communicate department performance, staff performance, events and issues to management and staff. Maintain positive interactions with payors, referring offices, patients, staff and radiologists. Interface with Senior Medical Director, Director of Operations and all technical/administrative staff to ensure effective teamwork and efficient operations. Administer quality programs and meet key quality and productivity measures in patient service, referral service, clinical programs, administrative functions, and service recovery. Maintain a safe environment for patients, technologists and other associates. Secure and maintain ACR accreditation; oversee ACR toolbox. Oversee all PACS functionalities, including administrator role. Maintain relationships with outside‑referring physicians and ensure highest quality customer service. Attend and provide input to monthly staff and clinician meetings and training sessions. Keep site team informed of company changes and imaging operations. Follow applicable state laws regarding radiation safety, licensing and Rural Health Clinic standards; ensure HIPAA compliance. Lead staff meetings, one‑on‑one discussions, performance evaluations and development, including PIPs, disciplinary actions and terminations. Assist in training new associates and support continuing education for technologists (CEU, CPR credits, etc.). Interface with radiologists to create and maintain up‑to‑date protocol manuals for all modalities. Implement strategies to promote teamwork within the department and with other associates, including management and radiologists. Ensure adequate physician coverage for all contrast and sedation studies. Perform technologist functions as needed. Order and maintain supply inventory; report system outages and coordinate repairs or service. Perform other job duties as assigned. Physical Job Requirements Endurance required for typing, standing, bending, walking and other physical duties. Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. ARRT preferred; board certification in a specialized modality preferred. Leadership experience plus at least 3 years as a radiologic technologist; minimum 5 years in a specialized modality and 2 years supervising a department preferred. Demonstrated commitment to safe practices and compliance with state, OSHA and HIPAA guidelines. Intermediate computer skills including email and EMR/PACS usage. General knowledge of modality equipment and office equipment preferred. Registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or equivalent, in good standing preferred. BLS certification preferred. CT certification required; additional certifications in mammography, MRI and/or ultrasound preferred.
