Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Intervention Specialist (Special Education)

Position Type: Full-Time
Hours: 40 Hours per Week
Location: Ohio

We are seeking a dedicated and student-focused Intervention Specialist (Special Education) to join a network of public charter schools committed to supporting Ohio's opportunity youth.

About the Program

Our schools specialize in dropout recovery and prevention, serving students ages 15–21 through a flexible, self-paced educational model. We provide students with the opportunity to earn a high school diploma while gaining valuable career and technical training that prepares them for sustainable, living-wage careers after graduation.

Position Overview

The Intervention Specialist will provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring compliance with special education requirements while helping students achieve academic, personal, and career success. This role requires a collaborative educator who is passionate about creating pathways to graduation and workforce readiness for at-risk youth.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Provide specialized instruction and accommodations to support student success
Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, families, and support staff
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Qualifications

Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist license/certification
Experience working with students receiving special education services
Strong knowledge of IEP development and special education compliance
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Passion for supporting at-risk and non-traditional learners
