Job Summary:

The Materials Associate is responsible for accurately picking and preparing customer orders in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role utilizes a voice-directed picking system (Voxware), RF scanner, and handheld device to fulfill orders, maintain inventory accuracy, and support overall warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pick customer orders using Voxware (voice-to-pick system), RF scanner, or pick sheets
• Accurately select items based on quantity and product specifications
• Use carts and totes to transport materials throughout the facility
• Ensure each order is completed correctly before moving to pack-out area
• Maintain continuous workflow as new orders are automatically assigned
• Communicate with supervisors when orders are completed or issues arise
• Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently throughout the shift
• Walking 5–10 miles per shift
• Fast-paced warehouse environment with productivity expectations

Schedule:

• 1st Shift: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• 2 × 15-minute breaks + 30-minute lunch (breaks are not guaranteed)
• Overtime may be required

Training:

• 1–2 weeks of training (depending on candidate performance)

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to follow instructions and use warehouse technology (RF scanner, voice systems)
• Ability to work on feet for an extended period

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of warehouse experience
• Experience with picking/packing and inventory control
• Forklift experience (sit-down and/or stand-up)
• Experience with cycle counting or warehouse inventory systems

Required Skills:

• Order picking and packing
• Inventory control and accuracy
• RF scanner usage
• Loading/unloading materials
• Attention to detail

Soft Skills:

• Strong attention to detail (accuracy is critical for customer orders)
• Reliable with good attendance
• Sense of urgency to meet delivery deadlines
• Willingness to learn and adapt

Dress Code:

• Casual work attire allowed (must fit properly)
• Shorts and short sleeves permitted
• No offensive or inappropriate graphics
• Closed-toe shoes required (tennis shoes acceptable)

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greensboro, NC.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
