Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to safely handle and care for animals of various sizes and temperaments. Basic knowledge of animal care and hygiene practices. Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, cleaning, and standing for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and reliability. Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. Ability to work independently and is reliable. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience working in a kennel, veterinary clinic, or animal shelter. Certification in pet first aid or animal care. Familiarity with animal behavior and basic training techniques. Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members. Responsibilities Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, grooming, and exercising. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, common areas, and equipment to ensure a safe environment. Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any concerns or abnormalities to supervisory staff promptly. Assist with intake and release procedures, including documentation and communication with pet owners. Support team members in various tasks to ensure smooth kennel operations and excellent animal care. Skills The required skills such as animal handling, attention to detail, and physical stamina are essential for daily tasks like feeding, cleaning, and monitoring animal health. Effective communication skills help in coordinating with team members and providing clear updates to pet owners. Preferred skills like knowledge of animal behavior and first aid enhance the ability to respond appropriately to animal needs and emergencies. Organizational skills ensure that the kennel environment remains clean and orderly, promoting animal welfare.
