Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (CT)

CT Technologist

Prometheus Federal Services (PFS) is a trusted partner of federal health agencies. We currently have openings for an CT Technologist. The work will be on-site at the VA Portland Health Care System in Portland, OR.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversees the day-to-day safe operation of the CT and/or Angio environment.
• Prepares contrast materials under the direction of the radiologist for the purpose of performing exams requiring injectable or consumable solutions.
• Records all doses of radiation for fluoroscopy and portable fluoroscopy exams.
• Receives and interprets all radiology requests for accuracy, appropriateness; date desired and maintains a thorough knowledge of the ordering process.
• Performs and completes imaging studies within the established guidelines.
• Responsible for the quality of radiographic exams performed.
• Responsible for operating and maximizing utilization of all equipment.
• Works with staff and radiology schedule to assure timely accomplishment of assigned workload.
• Performs radiology procedures/exams utilizing sterile techniques.
• Works with the radiologist/physician as a member of the radiology procedure team.
• Applies Infection Control practices and procedures for patients and staff.
• Uses independent judgment and possesses the ability to vary exams or treatment procedures as needed.
• Maintains electronic records and files of exams performed on patients.
• Properly identifies patient by using full name and full social security number and/or hospital name band.
• Responsible for minor equipment adjustments, repairs and exercises care in the handling and safeguarding of all equipment.
• Performs all aspects of CT imaging.
• Performs Interventional CT biopsy exams utilizing surgical sterile techniques.
• Prepares contrast materials under the direction of the radiologist that are used in CT.
• Technologists must be familiar with policies and procedures for practicing radiation safety.
• Acquires and maintains knowledge in CT dose optimization.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience with understanding advanced CT applications.
• ARRT Certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• Proven ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship.
• Ability to obtain public trust.
