RN - PICU

PICU Registered Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position featuring a rotating schedule of 3x12 hour shifts, encompassing both day and night hours. Weekend shifts (Friday to Sunday) and holiday work may be required.

The Registered Nurse assigned to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) will provide specialized care to pediatric patients, including adults in Labor & Delivery if needed. The position requires an understanding of managing complex medical care, including ventilation and sedation protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medication and manage patient care plans.
• Provide direct patient care in the PICU and float to Child and Adolescent services as needed.
• Monitor and titrate drips (sedation and vasoactive) as per physician's orders.
• Collaborate with pediatricians and clinical supervisors for optimal patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) required.
• Current certifications in BLS and PALS are mandatory.
• Must possess a valid nursing license with the ability to float between units.
• COVID-19 vaccination or an approved exemption is required.
