Work Environment

This position operates in a primarily remote outpatient setting, allowing for flexibility in work hours while ensuring efficient service delivery to clients. Our digital work environment leverages advanced technologies to maintain robust communication and collaboration among staff, including the use of electronic health record systems like AVATAR, which facilitates real-time data sharing and client management, thus ensuring comprehensive treatment approaches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial mental health evaluations and detailed interviews to gather comprehensive client histories and document case information effectively.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to the specific needs of clients, considering various factors such as mental, emotional, and behavioral health.
  • Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques to promote positive client outcomes.
  • Monitor and assess client progress throughout the treatment plan, adjusting interventions as needed to enhance recovery.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to create cohesive and comprehensive intervention strategies.
  • Maintain follow-up communication with other healthcare providers regarding clients who may require hospitalization or further specialized treatment.
  • Educate and involve family members in the treatment process to help them understand mental health challenges and support their loved ones effectively.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in psychotherapy and mental health treatment to ensure professional practices are at the forefront of the industry.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clients represent a diverse range of backgrounds and mental health challenges, encompassing individuals, couples, families, and groups facing various circumstances. We provide critical support for anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and substance use disorders, among others. The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will play a pivotal role in delivering tailored therapeutic support to empower clients toward their personal recovery goals.

Qualifications

  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Illinois is required to practice.
  • A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective dialogue with clients and collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a nurturing and supportive demeanor toward clients.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience working as a mental health counselor with a demonstrated ability to provide high-caliber care and achieve positive client outcomes.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to maintain accurate and efficient patient documentation.
  • Experience in addressing physical ailments, emotional health conditions, and addiction disorders, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of dual diagnosis treatment.
  • Familiarity with best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
  • Knowledge of psychopharmacology and the implications of medication prescribed by other medical professionals.

Compensation and Benefits

Allied Behavioral Health Center offers a competitive annual salary between USD 80,000 and 100,000, commensurate with experience, along with a sign-on bonus to attract top talent.
