TAMPA SURVEY PROJECT MANAGER/PSM
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Establish and maintain relationships with industry peers for operational purposes. Oversee survey projects and/or direct preparation of all types of surveys. Provide guidance and direction to office staff and field crew(s). Collaborate weekly resource needs with others on the management team. Consult with clients and maintain strong client relationships. Maintain monthly project invoicing. Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables. Adhere to safety protocol. Manage and coordinate projects with multiple team members. Requirements Registered Professional Land Surveyor in FL. AAS or BS Degree in Surveying preferred. A successful track record of building client relationships in the surveying and related mapping industry. Strong team-building skills and experience leading a team. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of processing of raw (field) survey data, including digital levels, GNSS, robotic total stations, terrestrial and/or mobile LiDAR, UAS data processing a plus Knowledge of CADD software, Microstation, and AutoCAD software is a plus. Perform field work and related manual labor in support of land surveying operations. Uses basic knowledge of survey to perform field work. Running level rod to obtain elevations, contours, location, elevation and dimension of land features. Holding prism pole for horizontal positions to allow data collection by instrument person. Assists survey crew in setting up equipment and preparing job site for survey. Prepares truck daily with necessary equipment to perform survey work. Removing obstacles / clearing brush and trees away from survey line. Work as part of a crew under the direction of a crew chief. Performs other duties as assigned Requirements High School and/or specialized training from a vocational or technical school. Valid Florida driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history required. Basic math skills. Ability to travel (up to 50% of the time). Required to travel overnight when needed. Required to work 50+ hours during busy periods. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to walk for long periods of time through all kinds of terrain, uneven ground and sometimes water. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work for any employer in the United States. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Serve as lead technical engineer and/or engineer of record for roadway design projects Direct and assist the preparation of roadway plans, calculations, and documentation Conduct field reviews Perform quality control reviews Effectively communicate and coordinate with clients and colleagues Train and mentor junior team members Support marketing pursuits and business development efforts Professional Engineer (PE) registered in FL At least five years of post-registration experience Experience leading roadway design and production Experience reviewing roadway plans and documentation Familiarity with current FDOT and AASHTO design standards and criteria Excellent technical, written, and oral communication skills Strong working knowledge of MicroStation and/or ORD Work with engineers and clients to create utility relocation plans, roadway plan & profiles, sidewalk design, concept plans, signing and pavement marking plans, and record drawings using computer aided drafting and design (CADD), primarily in Microstation Draft, edit, and finalize drawing packages conforming to good design practices Review drawings for completeness, accuracy, and quality Organize/maintain all project drawing revisions and project-related information Work on numerous tasks of multiple projects; the tasks are complex and require innovative, original solutions Work with other disciplines to provide best design solutions for clients Work with project engineers and other designers to revise plans according to markups and design revisions Oversee and mentor engineering technicians Requirements 10 years of full-time experience performing CADD design work Strong knowledge of MicroStation ORD in a design capacity Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset Experience using/incorporating land or aerial surveying/mapping data files Experience using MicroStation Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Certificate in drafting/design or Civil Engineering Technology from a technical school is preferred Establish and maintain relationships with industry peers for operational purposes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform design survey in support of transportation engineering projects, including but not limited to horizontal and vertical controls, boundary, topographic, tree, wetland surveys and various right of way location. Perform construction layout and as-built surveys. Gather field survey data using conventional and Global Positioning System (GPS) methods. Lead survey crew on assignments to ensure accurate completion of tasks. Ensuring crew has equipment and prepared for daily assignment. Protect and maintain survey equipment. Operate equipment accurately and efficiently to acquire necessary data. Ensure that work is conducted to company standards. Train crew members in methods, equipment, and safety procedures. Set up, adjust, and operate survey equipment in order to measure distances, elevations, and angles. Record complete and accurate field notes. Work with Field Crew Supervisor to schedule project workload. Other duties as assigned. Requirements 5 years or survey experience with FDOT survey experience a plus. High School and/or specialized training from a vocational or technical school. Valid Florida driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history required. Have basic math and calculator skills. Ability to travel (up to 50% of the time). Required to travel overnight when needed. Required to work 50+ hours during busy periods. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to walk for long periods of time through all kinds of terrain, uneven ground and sometimes water. Ability to carry and lift equipment as needed on project. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work for any employer in the United States. Identification of existing utilities and preliminary plans reading. Ability to identify utility conflicts with proposed improvements and develop mitigation strategies. Establishing contact with the utility agencies/owners (UAO). Development of plans, calculations, specifications, and estimates for various utility design projects on municipal and transportation projects. Preparation and submission of permit documentation. Post design support including shop drawing review, RFI response and final acceptance. Effectively communicate and coordinate with other members of the design team and across disciplines. Regularly interface with other departments, clients, project managers, and project engineers to support production of project deliverables and to resolve conflicting priorities. Maintain quality control of services and deliverables. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program Professional Engineer (PE) registered in Florida 5+ Years of relevant experience related water/wastewater experience Experience with transportation projects. Knowledge of Water/Wastewater engineering standards. Excellent technical, written, and oral communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation. Experience with Open Roads is a plus Ability to work for any employer in the United States. Proficient with total stations, digital leveling, and electronic data collection. Mark utilities with flags and/or paint and produce accurate field drawings and sketches of results for future use by client. Operate vacuum excavation truck and other related equipment to verify utility characteristics and record depth of utility line from surface. Work as part of a crew under the direction of a senior technician. Assist with maintenance of vehicle/trucks, equipment, and work sites. Exercise extreme caution near or around any utility facility and follow all applicable job site safety parameters. Requirements High School and/or specialized training from a vocational or technical school. Valid Florida driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history required. Ability to travel (up to 50% of the time). Required to travel overnight when needed. Required to work 50+ hours during busy periods. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work for any employer in the United States. Designate all utility line types of conductive or non-conductive materials including water, sewer, gas, electric, fiber optic, and all other underground facilities. Mark said utilities with flags and/or paint and produce accurate field drawings and sketches of results. Operate vacuum excavation truck and other related equipment to verify utility characteristics and record depth of utility. Assist with maintenance of vehicle/trucks, equipment, and work sites. Exercise extreme caution near or around any utility facility and follow all applicable job site safety parameters. Requirements High School and/or specialized training from a vocational or technical school. Experience in using electromagnetic and geophysical designating technologies is a plus. Valid Florida driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history required. Ability to travel (up to 50% of the time). Required to travel overnight when needed.
