Calling all experienced Lab Techs with virus production experience! We are a small but growing Animal Health Care company that specializes in the development and manufacture of vaccines for herd animals, primarily pigs and cows. If you have a couple of years of experience working in a lab with virus propagation, this may be the opportunity for you!
We are looking for a Lead Lab Tech to work in our fast-paced labs in Omaha, Nebraska. In this key role, you will work in our virus production department as a leader with responsibilities for scheduling all virus activities. This includes inoculating cell culture with virus, determining CPE, harvesting and inactivating batches for use in the manufacture of viral vaccines. This position offers lots of ownership and the ability to make a direct impact on our bottom line.

Responsibilities
· Work in an aseptic environment, performing all virus activities according to SOPs.
· Performs all aspects of virus antigen production including inoculation, harvest and inactivation of virus cultures.
· Schedule weekly virus team lab activities.
· Utilize your virus production expertise to provide support for others.
· Maintain all batch records and other required documentation.
· Train new lab personnel and assist in writing/revising SOPs.
· Recommend equipment and process improvements in order to increase efficiency.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Animal Science or related field preferred. Will consider Associate’s degree with relevant experience.
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in virus production for use in vaccine manufacturing.
· 1 year of Lead Lab Tech experience or experience training/mentoring new team members preferred.
· Good problem solving and math skills.
