Assistant Category Manager of Apparel – Overview As an Assistant Category Manager of Apparel at CVS Health®, you will partner with leadership to execute strategy for apparel categories, driving P&L growth, sales, profitability, and margin. You will manage assortment, promotions, digital, social, store brand and supplier capabilities to achieve goals and lead cross‑functional initiatives. Responsibilities Drive the category strategy and P&L to achieve sales, profitability, and margin growth. Manage revenue and margin goals through market share growth, inventory turns, GMROI, and DOS. Leverage data, insights, and analytics to influence stakeholders and make recommendations. Lead vendor management, collaborating and negotiating with manufacturers and vendors. Lead assortment decisions through planograms, features, promotional activity strategy, slotting, forecasting, and negotiations. Develop growth and oversee category strategies rooted in customer and trend insights. Move the team to deliver best‑in‑class merchandising experiences across in‑store and seasonal gifting channels, including leading negotiations with all suppliers. Assign timelines and accountabilities, empowering the team to complete action items. Navigate ambiguity and change, proactively anticipating market shifts and taking calculated risks to grow market share without jeopardizing profitability. Act as a change agent by embracing organizational improvement initiatives and fostering ethical behavior, compliance, and best practices. Deliver blend of innovation and financial risk management for broader team. Collaborate with senior leaders, corporate partners, peers, and team members as thought partners. Follow up on strategic initiatives and KPI performance. Required Qualifications 5+ years merchandising experience negotiating contracts with vendors. Experience leading cross‑functional teams and initiatives with complex scope. Experience developing and mobilizing business strategies to achieve goals. Experience leveraging data to support strategic plans and ROI. Experience engaging and inspiring cross‑functional teams to reach optimal business outcomes. Expertise in MS Office Suite, advanced Excel and PowerPoint. Extensive knowledge of retail operations, front‑store merchandising. Track record of collaboration with internal and external partners to deliver ROI. Travel up to 25%. Preferred Qualifications Experience with total P&L accountability. Education Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Other Details Hours: 40 per week. Full‑time position. Pay Range: $66,330.00 – $145,860.00 (base annual salary). Eligible for bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program.
