Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Certified Medical Assistant role based in Edgewater, NJ. The Certified Medical Assistant supports clinicians by preparing exam rooms, taking vital signs, documenting patient histories, and assisting with routine procedures. Daily responsibilities include managing patient flow, updating and maintaining medical records, handling phone calls, and coordinating appointment scheduling. The role also involves patient education on basic care instructions, verifying insurance and demographic information, and ensuring examination areas are clean, stocked, and safe. The Certified Medical Assistant collaborates closely with physicians and other staff to provide efficient, respectful, and high-quality patient care. Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in Medical Assisting, including vital signs, patient intake, and support for routine procedures. Knowledge of Medical Terminology to accurately document and communicate patient information. Experience in a Medical Office setting, including scheduling, phone etiquette, and front/back office coordination. Strong Patient Care skills, with a focus on empathy, safety, and clear communication. Ability to maintain and update Medical Records accurately, following privacy and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA). Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) from an accredited program. Basic computer skills and comfort with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Ability to stand, walk, and assist patients throughout the day, and to follow clinical protocols and safety guidelines. Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work respectfully with patients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
