Commercial HVAC Project Manager

BBSI is partnering with a well-established commercial mechanical contractor with nearly 50 years of success serving Southern California to identify an experienced HVAC Project Manager. This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on professional who can independently manage commercial HVAC projects while working closely with senior leadership and field operations.

Responsibilities

As Project Manager, you'll oversee commercial HVAC projects from kickoff through closeout, with responsibility for project execution, financial performance, field coordination, and client relationships.

Project Management

• Manage multiple commercial HVAC and tenant improvement projects.
• Review and interpret mechanical plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Develop and manage project budgets.
• Manage projects from kickoff through completion and closeout.
• Track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
• Monitor job costs and maintain accurate project forecasting.
• Identify project risks and proactively resolve issues.

Estimating & Procurement

• Perform takeoffs and assist with project procurement and buyout.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Coordinate equipment and material procurement.
• Review project scope and ensure work aligns with contractual requirements.

Field Coordination & Project Administration

• Coordinate regularly with field supervision and subcontractors.
• Work closely with foremen to ensure projects remain on schedule.
• Help resolve field challenges and maintain project productivity.
• Manage and track RFIs and submittals.
• Prepare and manage change orders.
• Maintain project documentation.
• Track costs, schedules, and project closeout requirements.

Qualifications/Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC or mechanical construction experience.
• Demonstrated experience managing commercial or tenant improvement projects.
• Strong understanding of HVAC/mechanical construction.
• Working knowledge of job cost controls, scheduling, budgeting, and change management.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans, specifications, and contracts.
• Experience with project takeoffs, procurement, and vendor coordination.
• Strong proficiency with Excel and project documentation.
• Bluebeam and/or Procore experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
