About the Role:
St. Martin's Evangelical Lutheran School in Annapolis, MD is looking for a passionate and dedicated First Grade Classroom Teacher to join their faith-based educational community. Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with first grade curriculum standards
• Foster a positive, faith-integrated classroom environment that supports social, emotional, and academic growth
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students
• Assess student progress through formal and informal evaluations and communicate results to parents
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, staff, and administration to support school-wide goals and initiatives
• Maintain an organized, safe, and welcoming classroom environment
• Participate in school events, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field required
• Valid Maryland State teaching certification preferred or eligibility to obtain one
• Prior experience teaching early elementary education preferred
• Strong understanding of early literacy, phonics, and foundational math instruction
• Commitment to integrating Lutheran Christian values into daily teaching practice
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to build meaningful relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
