Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position with the possibility of extension.

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12 hours from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Every other weekend is required.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring and managing patients with complex medical and surgical needs in a high-volume unit.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor patients including telemetry and post-operative care.
• Perform interpersonal assessments, interventions, and evaluations.
• Administer medications and manage IVs following protocols.
• Utilize EPIC for charting patient information and care.
• Provide effective care for patients with complex diagnoses and long-term management needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active New York State RN license (in hand).
• Minimum of 1 year of charge nurse experience.
• Experience with a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7.
• Must possess certification in BLS and NIHSS (valid NIHSS required at submission).
• Telehealth experience and knowledge of telemetry monitoring are required.
• Experience with central line management and various medical devices.
