We are seeking a strategic, creative, and results-driven Director, Corporate Communications to lead MetroPlusHealth’s communications efforts across public relations, media relations, social media, influencers, executive communications, and employee communications. This role is responsible for strengthening MetroPlusHealth’s brand visibility, elevating brand perception and consideration, increasing earned media presence, and delivering communications programs that support business objectives and measurable results. The ideal candidate is an experienced communications leader with a demonstrated track record of securing media coverage, leading high-impact communications initiatives, managing agency and partner relationships, and building communications programs that improve awareness, consideration, and business performance. Scope Of Role & Responsibilities Strategic Communications & Reputation Management Develop and execute communications strategies that support MetroPlusHealth’s business objectives, brand goals, and reputation. Strengthen MetroPlusHealth’s brand visibility, perception, and consideration among prospective members and key stakeholders. Identify opportunities to amplify MetroPlusHealth’s story, mission, and impact through integrated communications initiatives. Serve as a strategic communications advisor to senior leadership and key stakeholders. Public Relations & Media Relations Lead public relations initiatives that generate earned media coverage and strengthen brand visibility. Build and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets, government officials, industry influencers, and community partners. Identify opportunities to position MetroPlusHealth leaders and subject matter experts as thought leaders through media placements, speaking engagements, and industry events. Provide strategic oversight and direction to agency partners while ensuring accountability for performance and results. Support issues management and rapid-response communications as needed. Social Media & Influencer Engagement Oversee MetroPlusHealth’s social media and influencer strategy across key platforms. Develop programs that increase audience engagement, brand affinity, and positive brand perception. Cultivate relationships with influencers, creators, advocates, and strategic partners who can authentically amplify the MetroPlusHealth brand. Monitor emerging trends and opportunities to engage audiences and support business priorities. Executive & Internal Communications Provide strategic guidance and quality control for executive messaging, presentations, speaking engagements, and leadership communications. Lead internal communications programs including employee newsletters, leadership communications, digital signage, and organization-wide announcements. Partner with Human Resources and business leaders to support employee engagement and organizational initiatives. Measurement & Analytics Establish and measure communications KPIs tied to earned media performance, brand awareness, perception, consideration, audience engagement, and business outcomes. Monitor and report on communications performance, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement. Leverage analytics to optimize communications strategies and demonstrate business impact. Team Leadership Lead, mentor, and develop communications team members and external partners. Foster a collaborative, creative, and results-oriented culture. Ensure quality, consistency, and effectiveness across all communications initiatives. Required Education, Training & Professional Experience BA or BS in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. 8+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, media relations, communications strategy, or related fields. Demonstrated success securing earned media coverage and developing public relations strategies that increase visibility, awareness, and brand reputation. Experience developing social media and influencer engagement strategies. Experience managing communications agencies and external partners and holding vendors accountable for performance. Experience supporting executive communications, thought leadership, and reputation management initiatives. Strong insight generation and strategic thinking to identify communications and business opportunities. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, deadlines, and deliverables simultaneously. Experience using communications metrics and analytics to evaluate performance and optimize results. Strong writing, editing, and storytelling capabilities across a variety of communications channels and audiences. Experience with consumer-facing, health care, health insurance, or highly regulated brands preferred.
