Sr. Quality Engineer

Responsibilities Establish quality and reliability for optical sensors, photonic devices, and silicon chips. Lead key performance metrics for Quality Engineering. Provide quality customer interface and expertise to ensure requirements are understood and satisfied, including assisting with complaint resolution and root‑cause and corrective action determination. Support Supply Chain Management in collecting and analyzing supplier quality data and assist suppliers with product and process quality requirements. Execute the development, implementation, and improvement of appropriate Quality Management Systems throughout the operation, providing advanced quality planning support for the development and launch of new products, processes, and services. Review and provide environmental compliance such as RoHS3, REACH, Prop CA65 and other regulatory requirements. Participate in internal Quality System audits and complete part approval documentation to assure customer requirements are met for new or modified products and processes. Analyze organizational quality metrics and perform periodic reviews to evaluate results and recommend action plans to close gaps in the supply chain. Develop and analyze statistical data and product/process performance to recommend and implement improvements in targeted areas. Contribute to the design and implementation of quality assurance training programs and conduct training in quality‑related topics. Participate in product development and launch activities, including identification of customer expectations, manufacturing and test support, reliability analysis, design reviews, evaluation of test programs, and material handling. Investigate and eliminate causes of quality problems and follow up on corrective actions. Develop, implement, and audit inspection and test plans, standards and acceptance criteria, and procedures/work instructions. Participate in the design, procurement, maintenance, and evaluation of gauges, measurement instruments, devices, and test equipment. Report quality problems or defects to the manager or senior management so corrective action can be implemented and recurrence avoided. Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sciences, or related Engineering discipline (Electrical, Chemical, or Materials). 7+ years of work experience in Engineering/Quality. Strong knowledge of gauging and understanding of product material properties. Good understanding of electronics and processing. Strong problem‑solving skills and solid understanding of statistical process control (SPC), data analysis techniques, and design of experiments (DOE). Travel up to 5% may be required. Benefits and Compensation Pay may range from $120,000 to $130,000 annually. The pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on job level, geographic location, hiring date, experience, job‑related knowledge and skills, education, and market and business considerations. Base salary is one component of the total rewards package.
