Position SummaryWe are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Equipment Operator to support daily non-ferrous operations. This role involves operating forklifts, small loaders or skidsteers, managing the kiosk, and ensuring materials are sorted and processed according to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Operate forklifts and other yard equipment
- Manually unload customer scrap metal
- Perform equipment inspections to ensure safe operation
- Load, unload, and sort materials
- Inspect materials to meet quality standards
- Understand and apply knowledge of material grades and acceptable loads
- Perform basic equipment maintenance
- Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Experience operating forklifts or similar equipment preferred
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Ability to work in an outdoor, industrial environment
- Knowledge of scrap metal materials and grades is a plus
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
