Penalty Box is East Alton's go-to destination for great food, cold drinks, and wall-to-wall sports action. From NFL Sunday Ticket and weekend brunch to private parties and late-night fun, our kitchen team keeps the energy going by serving scratch-made food guests love. We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Line Cook to join our crew and help deliver consistent quality every shift.
What You’ll DoAs a Line Cook , you’ll play a key role in preparing dishes that meet our standards for quality and presentation. Responsibilities include:
Preparing and cooking menu items according to recipes and specifications
Operating grills, fryers, ovens, and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Following portion control, food safety, and sanitation guidelines
Maintaining a clean, organized, and stocked workstation throughout your shift
Assisting with prep, restocking, and closing duties as needed
Communicating clearly with the expo and FOH team to ensure accurate, timely orders
Supporting the kitchen team during high-volume shifts, especially on game days and weekends
Previous line cook or kitchen experience preferred (but we’ll train motivated candidates)
Passionate about food quality and consistency
Able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
Dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented
Physically able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
