Union New American is currently hiring SERVER ASSISTANTS to join our team. Union New American is located at the Westshore City Center in Tampa. Union is the go-to for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch with globally inspired fare. Guests can also enjoy a private event space on the second floor. The space will offer live music and dining in an outdoor terrace lounge. Job Summary The Server Assistant role is a vital member of the team with responsibilities that include setting up the dining room, setting tables, clearing tables, pouring water, running food, working with servers and expediters, resetting the dining room, polishing glassware and various other tasks that support service at the restaurant. The ability to stay positive and calm under pressure. A strong work ethic and a desire to learn and grow. Must be able to obtain food safety and responsible alcohol service certifications. Must be at least 18 years old Physical Requirements Ability to balance and carry trays, multiple plates, glass racks and or/glasses. Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks including constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time. Must have the ability to lift, push, pull approximately 25lbs. Must be able to stand and/or walk for up to 10 hours during a single shift, while possibly navigating ramps, stairs, and elevators.
