Custodian

Evening Custodian – Part TimePerforms essential custodial functions to ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of assigned office buildings in the evenings. This role contributes to the mission of ARC of the Treasure Coast, Inc., by maintaining safe, clean environments while maximizing opportunities for individuals with disabilities and other barriers to become more independent.Under the direct supervision of the Director of OperationsEssential Job Functions:Sweeps and mops all vinyl and ceramic tile floors; cleans baseboards.Empties, cleans, and relines waste baskets and sanitary containers.Cleans and sanitizes restrooms including toilets, urinals, sinks, stalls, partitions, fixtures, and replenishes supplies as necessary.Cleans offices, hallways, and storage areas as assigned.Cleans walls, ceilings, light fixtures, vents, blinds, and other surfaces as required.Picks up trash and litter around entrances, walkways, and surrounding exterior areas.Cleans lobby/foyer areas, including water fountains, benches, bulletin boards, and other surfaces.Maintains awareness of proper safety procedures and uses appropriate personal protective equipment.Performs other duties of a similar nature or level as required or assigned.Other Duties May Include, but are not limited to:Demonstrate by words and actions a commitment to the ARC of the Treasure Coast's mission to assist individuals with disabilities and other barriers to become self-sufficient, working members of the community.Attend and participate in meetings or trainings as directed, maintaining knowledge of agency policies and procedures.Follow all safety protocols and ensure safe working conditions; maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.Knowledge of:Proper use of custodial tools, equipment, and cleaning agentsSafety and infection control practicesBasic sanitation standardsAbility to:Perform essential custodial functions reliablyWork independently during evening hoursCommunicate effectively, both orally and in writingFollow instructions and safety protocolsEducation and Experience:Minimum Criteria:High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not requiredCustodial or janitorial experience helpful, but training will be providedWorking Hours:Part-time, evening shifts***Individuals with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.***
