X-Ray Technologist - EmUrgentCare, Latham Office

Department/Unit: EmUrgent Care – Latham. Work Shift: Day. Salary Range: $64,972.00 – $97,458.00. Location: Niskayuna EmUrgentCare sites. This is a full‑time (36hours per week) position with three 12‑hour shifts and occasional reimbursable travel. Primary Job Responsibilities Identify and prepare patients for radiologic procedures and perform diagnostic X‑ray exams following established protocols for patient care and safety. Select the correct patient, anatomy, and protocol to complete each exam. Confirm, schedule, and log completed radiologic procedures in the computer system and site schedules. Clean and maintain equipment and examination rooms at all times. Collect vitals and brief medical history of patients. Direct patients to examination rooms and ensure rooms are set up for efficient patient care. Order and restock medical supplies. Provide team support to medical providers and front desk personnel. Education Requirements Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration. Applicable state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist. Experience Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide basic X‑ray procedures. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and body mechanics required for safe X‑ray exams. Basic knowledge of radiology equipment and associated safety hazards. Ability to communicate clearly and provide routine diagnostic imaging to patients of all ages with cultural and developmental sensitivity. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain competent imaging skills and practice in compliance with AMC, NYS Department of Health, and ARRT standards. Assist physicians in all aspects of procedures in the assigned area. Provide a safe, positive experience for patients. Act as a mentor and preceptor to new staff and students. Support AMC and the imaging department in maintaining proper accreditations. Accurately enter patient data into the computer system(s). Perform quality assurance on images to ensure diagnostic quality and correct patient information before sending to PACS. Perform on‑call duties, if applicable. Practice sterile technique when required. Qualifications Diploma in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program – required. Associate’s Degree in Applied Science – required. Licensed Radiologic Technologist with NewYork State registration in Diagnostic Radiography or a limited permit. ARRT registration upon hire – required. Heartsaver First Aid, CPR, AED Professional Rescuer certification upon hire – required. Strong communication, problem‑solving, and data‑entry skills. Ability to perform calculations of measurements, rates, ratios, and percentages accurately. Adherence to AMC policies, procedures, and ethical standards. Physical Demands Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, and eye/hand/foot coordination are required.
