Housing Specialist for Young Adults

New Alternatives, Inc. is a private nonprofit agency that provides a wide range of services to children, youth and families in San Diego and Orange Counties. Services include residential, out-patient, day treatment and in home support services. The THP+ program provides housing assistance, employment and educational counseling and case management services to current and former foster youth, ages 18-24 years old. NAI Inc. is looking for a full-time Housing Specialist with flexible daytime hours, to work in a transitional housing program for former foster youth. Office located in central Santa Ana, Ca. 92703 Duties: -Perform house checks in scattered apartments throughout Orange County -Collection of rental payments -Coordinate and ensure completion of repairs with vendors -Works closely with case managers and other team members in a collaborative fashion -Identify and secure new apartments throughout Orange County -Develop and maintain working relationships with landlords and property management companies Requirements: -One year working with severely emotionally disturbed or foster youth -Minimum education requirements: High School Diploma -Excellent written and oral communication skills (Spanish speaking preferred) -Ability to be a strong team player who needs minimal direct supervision -Experience with property management preferred Full Time Benefits with 30 hours a week: Excellent medical and dental benefits Vacation, Sick Time 403B Plan Discounts at LA Fitness & CRUNCH Salary starting at $22-24/hr.
