Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Medical ICU

This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in the Cardiac Medical Intensive Care Unit. The role includes providing high-quality care for patients with acute cardiac and medical issues.

Position Information

• Shift: Nights, 1900-0730
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 (to be indicated on submission)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Weekend Hours: As required by facility/every other weekend
• Required Licensure: Current RN License in Missouri
• Required Certifications: BLS and ACLS from AHA, NIHSS
• Preferred Certifications: TNCC
• Experience Required: 3 years in Cardiac and/or Medical ICU, particularly with post-operative care for open-heart patients

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 22
• Patient Ratios: 1:2
• Equipment: Impella, IABP, Prismax CRRT, Zoll internal cooling device, Arctic Sun
• EMR: EPIC

Qualifications

• Must Have Skills/Experience: Minimum 3 years of inpatient experience in Cardiac Medical ICU
• Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience with medical ICU patients, cardiac emphasis (e.g., arrhythmias, STEMI, post-arrest)
• Patient Types: Sepsis, respiratory conditions, post-cardiac arrest, GI bleeds, DKA, PE, renal and liver failures, pancreatitis, overdose, suicidal ideations, CIWA
• Personality Fit: Excellent teamwork and accountability

Working Conditions

In this role, you will be required to stand and walk extensively, with significant bending, stooping, and lifting. The position involves working in a high-risk environment with potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids. You will utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for individuals with trauma, surgical needs, and medical comorbidities.
