Assistant Tech X-Ray, Full-Time Days

Salary range: $19.00–$24.70 per hour. Placement within this range depends on experience and internal equity. Description The Assistant Tech Imaging supports technologists, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals in Imaging Services. This position is pivotal in coordinating patient flow across imaging departments, ensuring efficient and safe patient care. Responsibilities Cares for the patient throughout the treatment/procedure according to department and hospital standards of care. Provides systems support by preparing procedure rooms for patients prior to their arrival and work area. Assists in preparing patients for exam/procedure, explains exams, answers basic questions, and, if assigned to MR, brings forward detailed clinical questions. Follows directions of technologist/nurse to assist in performing exam/procedure on patients. Processes CDs, participates in lifting and escorting patients, and maintains lift equipment competencies as per NMH Safe Patient Handling Policy PC 05.0095. Coordinates patient care based on departmental imaging protocols, interacting and communicating with clinical and medical staff to maintain patient flow. Reconciles physician orders to correct exam protocol and escalates discrepancies to appropriate clinical staff. Prepares all necessary paperwork and information to perform treatment/procedure. Retrieves physician orders from all order systems including EPIC, Chartview, and Powerchart. Assists in clarifying patient demographic information and verifies patient information for accuracy and completeness. Monitors schedule to ensure effective patient flow throughout the diagnostic areas, informing coordinators, charge techs, and patients of delays. Identifies and obtains paperwork required to start exams and handles outside films appropriately, obtaining patient films when requested. Recognizes and reports problems to appropriate supervisors. Uses scheduling system, Radnet, and PACS proficiently; monitors supplies such as radiology contrast media and restocks as needed. Uses designated equipment effectively, maintaining safety checklists including contrast warmers and barium refrigerators. Follows policies and procedures to contribute to departmental efficiency. Organizes and prioritizes assigned work, scheduling time to accommodate demands and turnaround time. Provides clerical/technical support as needed and as assigned by Manager. Qualifications Required High School Diploma. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Strong problem‑solving and organizational skills. Demonstrates computer skills. CPR Certification (BLS). Preferred Previous experience in a healthcare delivery position. Bilingual language skills. Benefits
