Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist, Rheumatology – Grand Rapids, MI Position Summary: The TAS is a critical role in our unique customer model to execute BMS’s aspiration to be the bio‑pharma that delivers the most impactful engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs), driving adoption of new and existing medicines for appropriate patients. Key Responsibilities Promote approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory or region to meet or exceed assigned sales targets. Organize promotional programs such as lunch & learn and speaker programs. Create demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use of products in appropriate patients. Leverage AI‑based targeting capabilities to define call plans. Participate in omnichannel interactions with customers. Engage continuously to maintain and grow a high level of scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas. Prepare and successfully implement comprehensive territory and account plans. Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue Demonstrate scientific expertise and passion in using approved scientific resources and publications to present information to HCPs and ensure medical accuracy. Conduct office presentations and discuss product‑related scientific information with HCPs consistent with label. Maintain high level of working expertise on emerging data. Engage real‑time medical support to reactively answer unsolicited questions requiring scientific exchange. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Proactively collaborate with other field teams to ensure the best customer experience for HCPs. Foster team effectiveness and accomplish shared goals by gathering and sharing relevant insights and information internally to enable BMS to serve its customers better. Comply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of BMS. Required Qualifications & Experience Advanced scientific degree and/or a minimum of 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience as healthcare sales, MSL, HCP or nurse. Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data convincingly to help physicians best serve their patients. Strong selling and promotional skills. Demonstrated strong capability in account management skill sets, superior selling competencies, and a proven sales performance track record of meeting or exceeding goals. Experience building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers, office staff and others in the customer influence network via a customer‑centric mindset and a desire to create positive, differentiated engagement. Experience in rheumatology is preferred but not mandatory. Demonstrated ability to work effectively cross‑functionally with a positive team mindset and can‑do attitude. Candidate must meet company‑defined qualified driver requirements, including being at least 21 years old, holding a valid driver’s license, and maintaining an acceptable driving risk level. Compensation Overview Field – United States – US: $129,970 – $157,487 Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available.
