Department : 01120 WFBMG Hugh Chatham: Chatham Medical Park - Family Medicine Status : Full time Benefits Eligible : Yes Hours Per Week : 40 Schedule Details : Various Pay Range : $40.60 - $60.90 Position Highlights 100% inpatient adult medicine Hospital-based practice with collaborative physician and Advanced Practice Provider team model Adult and geriatric patient population 7 days on / 7 days off schedule, or as otherwise specified by site needs Procedures not required Collaborative interdisciplinary support including physicians, nursing staff, case management, consulting services, and administrative support staff Opportunity to participate in education and mentorship with APP students and APP fellows Centralized professional support through the Center for Advanced Practice Eligible for annual performance-based bonus opportunities tied to physician/APP team goals CME allowance provided Opportunity to join and support a growing Hospital Medicine program within a newly integrated Advocate Health partner location Position Responsibilities Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations for hospitalized adult patients Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions in the inpatient setting Develop and implement patient-centered treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians Order, interpret, and monitor laboratory studies, imaging, and diagnostic testing Monitor patient progress and respond appropriately to changes in clinical condition Prescribe and adjust medications in accordance with North Carolina regulations and DEA guidelines Collaborate closely with hospitalists, nursing staff, consulting physicians, care management, and ancillary teams to coordinate care Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and discharge planning Facilitate communication with primary care providers and patient families regarding ongoing care needs Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical documentation Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety efforts Maintain compliance with Joint Commission, HIPAA, OSHA, and organizational standards Candidate Qualifications Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program required Current North Carolina license or eligibility required Current prescriptive authority and DEA licensure required BLS and ACLS certifications required Acute Care certification required for Nurse Practitioner candidates Minimum of 1–2 years of inpatient, hospital medicine, internal medicine, emergency medicine, critical care, or related acute care experience preferred Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and interpersonal communication skills required Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and collaborative hospital environment Nurse Practitioner Candidates Master’s Degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice required Acute Care certification required Current RN and APRN licensure required Certification from a nationally recognized certifying body required ACNP, AGACNP, AGNP, PNP, or PNP-AC certification preferred depending on population served Physician Assistant Candidates Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required Master’s Degree preferred NCCPA certification preferred Compensation Base compensation listed within the listed pay range based on factors such as qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training Premium pay such as shift, on call, and more based on a teammate's job Incentive pay for select positions Opportunity for annual increases based on performance Benefits And More Paid Time Off programs Health and welfare benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life, and Short- and Long-Term Disability Flexible Spending Accounts for eligible health care and dependent care expenses Family benefits such as adoption assistance and paid parental leave Defined contribution retirement plans with employer match and other financial wellness programs Educational Assistance Program Note: Eligibility for programs listed above may depend on your FTE or status (e.g., full‑time, part‑time, per diem, temporary, etc.); please ask a Recruiter for more information during an interview.
