Content Writer

HEAL (Health Education Access League) is an international youth-led nonprofit dedicated to making health education accessible, understandable, and actionable for teens. Our mission is to improve health literacy, combat misinformation, and empower young people to better understand and advocate for their health.

We are seeking thoughtful, creative student volunteers to join HEAL’s Writing Team and help transform complex health information into clear, engaging, and accessible content. Writing Team members play a key role in ensuring HEAL’s educational resources are informative, relatable, and impactful for student audiences.

Responsibilities

Writing Team members may contribute in one or more of the following areas:

• Write educational articles, guides, scripts, and informational resources on health-related topics
• Translate complex medical or scientific information into accessible, student-friendly language
• Assist with blog posts, social media captions, newsletters, and campaign content
• Support myth-busting and health awareness initiatives through written content
• Collaborate with research, art, and outreach teams to develop multidisciplinary projects
• Edit and revise content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and readability

Team members help ensure that HEAL’s content is both evidence-based and engaging for diverse audiences.

Qualifications

We are looking for applicants who are:

• Passionate about writing, communication, education, or storytelling
• Interested in health, science, medicine, public health, or advocacy
• Strong writers who can communicate ideas clearly and effectively
• Detail-oriented and open to feedback and revision
• Collaborative, reliable, and able to meet deadlines

Prior professional writing experience is not required . Students from all academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Time Commitment

• Monthly team meetings
• Flexible remote collaboration with project-based deadlines
