Respiratory Therapist

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night Shift: 3x12 hour shifts

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care and facilitating patient transport within the facility as medically prescribed. They are responsible for evaluating patients and recommending appropriate treatment plans while ensuring patient education during discharge.

Responsibilities:

• Perform physician-prescribed routine treatments using various ventilatory equipment, oxygen, aerosol, and nebulizer devices.
• Conduct chest physiotherapy to promote secretion clearance and perform suctioning using multiple methods.
• Execute oximetry and capnography monitoring according to established policies.
• Review patients' chest x-rays and conduct pulmonary function studies as required.
• Assist in procedures related to respiratory care, including bronchoscopy and tracheostomy care.
• Perform arterial puncture and monitor, record, and report vital test results.
• Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation following BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Document all treatment information, patient responses, and communicate effectively with physicians.
• Maintain accurate respiratory therapy charging and participate in equipment maintenance as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license
• Experience in administering respiratory treatments in clinical settings
• Certification in BLS and ACLS
