Visit and explore our culture on LinkedIn and Instagram.What You’ll DoAs an Engineer I, you’ll apply standard design engineering techniques on small projects or selected segments of larger work—supporting analyses, drawings, coordination, and client communication while developing toward responsible charge under the guidance of senior engineers.Begin assuming responsible charge for portions of project designs under the supervision of theEOR and within your control and expertise.Develop design approaches and concepts with conceptual input/oversight from the EOR;perform engineering studies and analyses using industry software.Oversee preparation of drawings and documentation; ensure accuracy, neatness, andadherence to standards; review colleague work and provide feedback.Coordinate equipment and overall design space requirements with the architect and otherdisciplines; communicate design requirements clearly.Attend internal kickoff/design meetings and meetings with owners/clients/architects as needed;document decisions and action items.Coordinate with authorities, utilities, and municipalities to incorporate construction, code, andgovernment requirements.Assist with discipline manhour budgets; plan work to schedule and report progress, risks, andneeded changes to the project manager.Perform studies, load calculations, and equipment selection appropriate to the project design;review work for technical accuracy before QA/QC.Respond to contractor and supplier questions during bid and construction; review shopdrawings and submittals.Conduct site visits to monitor progress and observe installed construction; comment based ondesign specifications, owner expectations, and codes.Maintain detailed records of communications with clients, contractors, vendors, and teammembers; contribute to lessons learned.Support training and mentoring of designers and EITs; maintain continuous learning on codes,software, and industry trends; assist PMs as needed.Who We’re Looking ForMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited college with four years applicableexperience in discipline design and analysisRegistered Professional EngineerPreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies; ability to perform studies, loadcalculations, and equipment selection.Proficiency with industry software (Revit, AutoCAD) and disciplinespecific tools (e.g., Trace700,SKM).Knowledge of drafting/design procedures, standards, and specifications; knowledge ofapplicable codes and regulations.Strong technical writing and written communication; clear speech clarity; strong comprehensionand followthrough.Detailoriented with sound judgment and decisionmaking; effective interpersonal skills andability to mentor designers/EITs.What We Offer100% Employee-Owned – Ownership from day one with immediate ESOP vesting.Retirement Savings – 401(k) with immediate vesting and a generous company match.Health & Wellness – Medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus companyfunded HSAcontributions for HDHP plans.Company-Paid Protection – Life insurance, AD&D, and short and long term disability at no costto you.Work-Life Balance – Flexible schedules, paid parental leave, generous PTO, and paid companyholidays.Career Growth – Tuition reimbursement and ongoing professional development support.SSR is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action EmployerEEO Disabled/VeteransThis job posting will remain open a minimum of 72 hours and on an ongoing basis until filled.Recruiters or staffing agencies: SSR is not obligated to compensate any external recruiter or search firm who presents a candidate, their resume, or profile to an SSR employee without 1) a current, fully executed agreement on file and 2) being assigned to the open position via HRJob SummaryRequisition Number: ENGIN Job Category: EngineeringSchedule: Full-Time
