Our 102-bed facility provides a wide range of mental, emotional and behavioral health services for children, teens, adults and seniors experiencing mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety and co-occurring substance use issues. The Cape Girardeau region has significant reach for its consumers and a labor force encompassing a 40-mile radius.Position SummaryThe Intake RN, under the supervision of the Intake Director, provides telephonic and in-person risk assessment to assist the physician in identification of appropriate level of care for potential patients. The Intake RN is the initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, facilitates the admission process and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff. The Intake RN works with the Business Office regarding patient financial data and verification and prior authorization of insurance benefits as needed, as well as with the UR Department for the certification of patients admitted.QualificationsEducation: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Experience: 2-3 years in substance abuse/psychiatric treatment programs, including experience in intake/admissions and managed care preferred. Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Missouri State Board of Nursing. Additional Requirements: CPR certification, Handle with Care and Verbal De-Escalation training within 30 days of employment prior to assisting in a restraining procedure. Must be able to pass a competency exam for the area upon hire.
