Social Worker.

As a Social Worker, you will Responsibilities: Work independently to examine current standards of care, compliance with those standards, and develop new standards as necessary to meet the changing needs of the residents and agency. Collaborate with department heads to review patient care activities with individual clinicians to ensure knowledge and compliance with standards. Actively participate in developing and maintaining public understanding and community outreach to influence public attitude and coordinate with the agency. Qualifications Required qualifications include: Master’s degree in social work from an accredited school certified by the Council on Social Work Education. Current State or DC license to practice as an Independent Practitioner (Clinical Social Worker, Independent Clinical Social Worker, or Certified Social Worker). Licenses for Master Social Worker are not qualifying. Substantial experience in a healthcare setting dealing with geriatric populations, dementia, and medical or psychiatric social work skills. Qualification to serve as an Independent Healthcare Provider by the Healthcare Services Department. One year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS‑09 grade level. This experience should include admission preparation, assessment, counseling, day‑to‑day assistance, initiation and revision of care plans, and integrated services to coordinate resident/patient care for a geriatric population. Alternatively, you may substitute education for specialized experience, such as a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or three years of progressively higher‑level graduate education leading to said degree; or an LL.M. if related. Alternatively, you may combine education and experience. The sum of experience percentage at the required grade level plus education percentage must equal at least 100 %. Long‑term care experience and/or interaction with geriatric patients is highly desired. Conditions of Employment Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National. Must successfully complete a background investigation and drug test. Must complete a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process requiring two forms of identification. Must attend mandatory ethics training within 3 months of appointment and comply with AFRH ethics regulations. Position may require a one‑year probationary period. Required to wear safety clothing and equipment appropriate for the position. Must be available to attend scheduled duty times and respond to emergency situations.
