Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Psychiatric Nurse PractitionerThis position involves working as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner within a community-based health center in New York, NY. The role requires full-time commitment, providing psychiatric assessments and treatments, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. Proficiency in generic office software is necessary.Conduct initial and follow-up psychiatric evaluations and assessments. Perform comprehensive mental status exams and risk assessments. Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications for clients. Provide crisis intervention as needed. Formulate and discuss treatment plans with clients. Collaborate with primary psychotherapist on treatment planning. Maintain timely progress notes and record keeping.Master of Science in Nursing with a post-master's certificate. License to practice as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. 3-5 years of clinical experience with minority communities. Proficiency in group facilitation and knowledge of psychopathology. Experience with mental illness and substance abuse treatment. Bilingual (English-Spanish) is desirable. Experience with social service systems in New York City.
