The Parents Network (TPN) Manager

$95k - $110k

Parents Together Foundation

Job Description

Job Description

ParentsTogether is seeking a compassionate, experienced professional to lead and support The Parents Network (TPN), a community of both bereaved and impacted survivor parents, whose children were harmed by social media, artificial intelligence, and big tech companies. This critical role requires a talented, empathetic individual who can support and empower parents experiencing significant trauma and channel their experiences into meaningful advocacy for policy change and corporate accountability. The Parents Network Manager will oversee TPN, including managing contractors, manage relationships with partners and funders, and build out a new advocacy program for survivor parents.

As an impact media organization, ParentsTogether centers parent voices in our content, campaigns, and culture-shaping work. This role plays a critical part in helping parents share their stories to drive narrative and policy change, and the successful candidate will bring exceptional emotional intelligence, a deep commitment to survivor-centered advocacy, and a passion for reaching across lines of geography, culture, and ideology to build a broad, durable majority of parents in support of a safer, more accountable, and pro-social future.

The Parents Network Manager reports to the Director of Online Safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee The Parents Network program, including managing contractors, ensuring the program is meeting goals, and community needs are being met

  • Oversee relationship management with TPN parents, including supporting new community member intake, conducting regular individual and group check-ins, and responding to community needs as they arise

  • Ensure parent members utilize the provided mental health resources, grief counseling, peer support groups, and other supportive services of TPN

  • Manage relationships with partner organizations, funders, and other key online safety movement shareholders

  • Create and maintain a trauma-informed, culturally responsive support infrastructure that honors parents' experiences and needs, and recognize signs of crisis or declining mental health and coordinate appropriate interventions

  • Work collaboratively with parent members and online safety movement partner organizations to build and implement an advocacy training program

  • Coordinate parent member participation in advocacy opportunities with partner organizations, including meetings with policymakers, direct advocacy to tech companies, and other opportunities

  • Prepare parents for media interviews, public speaking, and congressional testimony with trauma-informed coaching

  • Collaborate with communications, policy, and campaigns teams to ensure parent voices are centered in organizational strategy and reflected in compelling, culturally resonant content across our media platforms.

  • Partner with the content and communication teams to identify, develop, and support parent stories for digital content, earned media, and narrative campaigns designed to reach and engage parents beyond traditional advocacy audiences.

  • Support and implement a comms strategy that tells the story of TPN through earned media, including conducting interviews

  • Track and manage all TPN data and metrics

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience working directly with impacted communities or individuals experiencing trauma in advocacy, organizing, or social services settings

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field (social work, psychology, sociology, etc.) or commensurate experience

  • Demonstrated expertise in trauma-informed practices and working with individuals experiencing trauma, grief, or crisis

  • Campaign or advocacy experience, including policy advocacy, corporate accountability work, and/or grassroots organizing

  • Experience facilitating support groups or peer networks for individuals with shared experiences of trauma

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on active listening and empathy

  • Commitment to centering survivor voices and practicing survivor-led advocacy principles

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to manage multiple relationships and priorities simultaneously

  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to crisis situations and changing parent needs

  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and anti-racism principles in all aspects of the work

  • Experience communicating across differences and engaging audiences with diverse cultural, political, or lived experience is a plus.

Who We Are:

ParentsTogether is a nonprofit parent and family advocacy group that represents more than three million families, brings parents together to make a difference on the issues that matter most to our kids and families — things like family leave, childcare, keeping our kids safe online, and quality education. At ParentsTogether, we have an intersectional analysis and believe that building a multiracial, cross-class parent movement is non-negotiable. We are actively working to build a diverse team; people of color, people from poor and working class backgrounds, LGBTQ folks, and people with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply. We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate based upon gender, race, national origin, disability, age, religion, sexual orientation, or gender expression.

Salary, Location and Benefits:

Salary: The salary range is $95,000 - $110,000 annually plus health insurance benefits.

Location: This is a remote role based anywhere in the US. This position may require occasional evening and weekend hours to accommodate parent schedules and advocacy events. Some travel is required for in-person meetings, convenings, legislative visits, and campaign events (approximately 10-20%). This work involves regular exposure to stories of child death and severe injury, requiring strong emotional resilience and active self-care practices.

Benefits:

Annual Paid Time Off (PTO):

  • 15 vacation days

  • 15 sick days

  • 10 holidays

  • Bonus PTO time - average of 12 additional days off for extended summer and winter holiday breaks

Health Insurance: PTF pays 100% of the employee’s health insurance base plan premium & 50% of dependents' health insurance base plan premium. Dental & Vision insurance are also offered.

Paid Family & Medical Leave: PTF provides 16 weeks of annual paid parental leave for the birth or adoption of a child. We offer 12 weeks of annual paid family leave to care for yourself or a loved one.

Retirement: After four months of employment, employees are eligible to participate in our 401K retirement plan. PTF will make a matching retirement contribution equal to 100% of the first 3% of the employee’s salary and 50% of the next 2% of their salary. Staff are fully vested in the plan from their first day of enrollment.

Professional Development: We offer regular opportunities for professional development, including training programs such as Culture Amp, and LinkedIn Learning. In addition to these resources, each staff member receives an annual professional development allotment.

Paid Sabbatical: After five years of service, employees are eligible to take a fully paid six week sabbatical

How to Apply:

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. We encourage interested candidates to apply as soon as possible. We will begin first round interviews on a rolling basis. Preference given to candidates who apply by March 15, 2026. Please apply on our Career Page only and include the following:

  • Resume or CV

  • In lieu of a cover letter, answer the following questions in 250 words or less, total:
    • What is the most important thing to consider when working with people who have experienced trauma and grief?

    • What’s an advocacy campaign or movement you have admired and why?

    • How do you like to organize and manage your work?

We are unable to respond to direct outreach, phone calls, or email inquiries regarding this opportunity.

At ParentsTogether, we have an intersectional analysis and believe that building a multiracial, cross-class parent movement is non-negotiable.
