Position Overview

We are seeking a Program Evaluation Lead to support surveillance systems and informatics programs through program evaluation, data collection, analysis, reporting, and quality improvement activities.

The Program Evaluation Lead will work closely with management and program teams to develop and implement evaluation strategies, manage data collection activities, analyze data, produce reports, and ensure data collection and reporting procedures follow established protocols.

This position will also provide training and guidance to staff on program evaluation methods, metrics, data collection, and quality improvement practices.

Key ResponsibilitiesData Evaluation Coordination

• Develop and implement evaluation and quality improvement strategies, tools, and data collection plans.

• Incorporate data evaluation and quality improvement activities into program planning, reporting, and staff meetings.

• Monitor current trends and best practices in public health research and program evaluation.

• Recommend improvements to data collection, analysis, dissemination, and reporting processes.

• Produce periodic program reports for program managers and senior leadership.

• Assist with data interpretation and communicate evaluation findings.

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual data integrity checks.

• Identify and troubleshoot data entry and collection issues.

• Ensure data is collected and entered according to established protocols and evaluation plans.

• Maintain complete and accurate records, files, and documentation.

• Maintain and update database and data collection procedure manuals.

Leadership Training

• Coordinate data collection and data entry responsibilities among staff.

• Coordinate implementation, collection, and reporting of evaluation tools.

• Lead program evaluation and quality improvement training for new and existing staff.

• Work with internal and external stakeholders to promote a culture of quality improvement.

• Collaborate with regulatory organizations, academic partners, and other stakeholders on evaluation initiatives.

• Lead through influence and build cooperation among staff without formal supervisory authority.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent work experience in Public Health, Community Development, or a related field .

• At least 3 years of experience developing and implementing evaluation strategies , including surveys, focus groups, and stakeholder interviews.

• At least 3 years of experience analyzing data and developing reports using available data sources.

Preferred Skills Experience

• Experience with complex data collection, data entry, and data analysis.

• Experience performing comparative analysis using publicly available data sources.

• Strong knowledge of program evaluation methods and quality improvement practices.

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint .

• Experience working with online data entry systems and databases.

• Ability to manage competing priorities and work under strict deadlines.

• Ability to lead and influence teams without formal authority.

• Ability to work with individuals with varying levels of technical and computer knowledge.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of an inter-programmatic team.

Location Requirement

Candidates must be Tennessee residents or reside in a surrounding area and be able to commute regularly to the assigned office in Nashville, TN .

The exact hybrid schedule will be determined based on the needs of the program and may be negotiated with the selected candidate.

Selected candidates will be required to complete applicable background verification, including criminal, federal, statewide/county, sex offender registry, address history, global watch, and AKA searches.
