Description General Description The Director of Logistics provides strategic leadership and oversight for Logistics, Fleet, Facilities, Maintenance, Purchasing, and equipment operations. This role ensures teams have the resources, infrastructure, and operational support necessary to deliver safe, reliable, and high-quality service. The Director is responsible for establishing departmental strategy, maintaining compliance with organizational policies and standards, and driving operational efficiency across all areas of responsibility. Serving as a key partner to departments throughout the organization, this position provides guidance on logistics, purchasing, fleet, facilities, and related operational matters to support organizational goals. Aligned with the organization’s Strategic Plan, the Director ensures departmental priorities and responsibilities support MedFlight and MedCare’s mission, vision, and values. In partnership with the VP of Ground Operations, the Director develops and executes business strategies, optimizes regional resources, communicates organizational priorities, and provides coaching, mentorship, and leadership to staff. Major Duties and Responsibilities In this leadership role, you will: Provide strategic oversight of fleet, facilities, maintenance, inventory, purchasing, equipment, and logistics operations. Lead and develop a high-performing team while fostering accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Partner with the VP of Ground Operations and organizational leaders to establish priorities, optimize resources, and support operational goals. Develop and monitor KPIs to improve operational efficiency, service quality, cost management, and asset utilization. Ensure vehicles, facilities, equipment, and supplies are safe, serviceable, and maintained to established standards. Manage inventory and purchasing processes, including appropriate stocking levels, asset tracking, vendor relationships, and loss prevention. Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, licensing, safety, and organizational requirements, including CAAS, DEA, and Ohio pharmacy requirements. Identify opportunities to improve processes, technology, products, and services while balancing safety, quality, cost, and operational needs. Identify and mitigate operational, financial, regulatory, safety, security, and asset-related risks. Support strategic planning, budgeting, project management, quality improvement, and organizational initiatives. Build strong relationships with employees, partners, vendors, regulatory agencies, and internal customers. What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate is a strategic and hands-on leader who combines operational expertise with strong business and people leadership. You bring: Leadership experience in logistics, fleet, facilities, supply chain, operations, or a related field. Proven ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and drive accountability. Strong financial, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Experience with inventory, purchasing, asset management, facilities, fleet, or maintenance operations. Knowledge of regulatory, accreditation, safety, and compliance requirements relevant to the role. Strong communication and relationship-building skills with employees, vendors, partners, and senior leadership. A track record of identifying opportunities, improving processes, and implementing practical solutions. Commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer service. Ability to develop and execute both short- and long-term strategic plans. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, or related field preferred. Ohio-certified EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic experience preferred, with at least five years of pre-hospital clinical experience. At least three years of leadership experience preferred, with demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills. Strong financial, administrative, organizational, and project management skills. Ability to exercise independent judgment, influence others, and build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization. Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office. Knowledge of referring and receiving agencies and the pre-hospital healthcare environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a dynamic, non-routine environment with minimal direction. Commitment to obtaining CMTE credentials within three years of hire. Ability to participate in a rotating administrator on-call schedule and respond to 24/7 operational needs. Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required. Ability to lift 20-30 pounds. Working Conditions Work is generally performed in a normal office environment with minimal exposure to noise, heat, dust, etc. Health and Safety Requirement As part of our commitment to protecting our patients, partners and our community, all partners are required to receive the annual influenza (flu) vaccine.
