Ascension Global Staffing & Executive Search is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Insurance Defense Litigation Paralegal to join our client’s dynamic legal team.

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive litigation support to attorneys handling bodily injury and insurance defense matters from inception through resolution. This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with strong knowledge of litigation procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

This position offers a hybrid/remote work arrangement.

Case Management

• Support attorneys in managing insurance defense and bodily injury litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Maintain and organize case files, ensuring pleadings, correspondence, discovery, medical records, and other case-related documents are accurate and up to date.
• Prepare and assist with filing pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, and other legal documents.
• Monitor case deadlines, court dates, discovery schedules, and other critical litigation dates.
• Assist attorneys with case preparation by conducting legal and factual research and gathering relevant information.

Document Review & Analysis

• Review and analyze medical records, police reports, insurance documentation, discovery responses, and other materials related to bodily injury claims.
• Summarize medical records and other complex documents, identifying key facts, issues, inconsistencies, and areas of concern.
• Organize and prepare documents and materials for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial.
• Assist with the preparation of exhibits, witness lists, trial binders, and other litigation materials.

Communication & Coordination

• Communicate professionally with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, court personnel, medical providers, and other parties.
• Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, mediations, inspections, and other litigation-related events.
• Draft correspondence, notices, and other legal documents under attorney supervision.
• Assist attorneys with gathering information and coordinating case-related activities.

Legal Research & Litigation Support

• Conduct legal and factual research as requested by attorneys.
• Research relevant statutes, regulations, case law, and legal precedents.
• Stay current on applicable rules, procedures, and developments affecting insurance defense and bodily injury litigation.
• Assist attorneys with trial preparation and other case-related projects.

Trial Support

• Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness materials, trial notebooks, and supporting documentation.
• Attend trials, hearings, and other proceedings as needed to provide litigation support.
• Assist with exhibit management and witness coordination during trial.

• 5+ years of experience as a Paralegal , preferably with significant experience in insurance defense and bodily injury litigation .
• Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
• Strong understanding of litigation procedures and insurance defense practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong legal research, document review, and analytical skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple cases, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and legal teams.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat .
• Experience with legal case/document management systems such as Kofax, Faster Suite, Clio, or similar platforms .
• Experience with e-filing, time entry, billing, calendaring, and case management systems .
• Strong ability to learn and utilize new legal technology and software.
