Make a difference in the lives of students by supporting a diverse K-12 population in a special education district located near Rochester, MI. This rewarding contract opportunity runs from ASAP through June 11, 2026, and offers the chance to provide essential social work services onsite, collaborating with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure every student receives the support they need to thrive.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Michigan School Social Worker Certificate (310) required; please include a copy when applying.
- If lacking certification, documented supervision arrangements must be made in advance of interviewing.
- Experience or strong interest in working with K-12 students, especially those in special education settings.
- Thorough understanding of Michigan’s credential verification process (see link provided).
- Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in educational settings.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration abilities.
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver social work services to students, supporting their social/emotional and academic success.
- Conduct assessments and develop interventions as part of Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams.
- Foster a positive school climate through consultation, crisis intervention, and staff training.
- Communicate effectively with families, offering resources and guidance to support student wellbeing.
- Advocate for student needs and contribute to multidisciplinary planning.
- Maintain all required documentation and compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines.
- Work exclusively onsite, collaborating directly with staff, students, and families.
