Special Requirements: Pre and post operative vascular surgical services: abdominal and thoracic aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomies and stents, peripheral vascular interventions of lower extremities including bypasses, angio and stents, and thrombectomies, hemodialysis AV fistulas & grafts, thoracic outlet decompression (neurogenic, venous, or arterial), lower extremity amputations (toe, foot, and leg), lysis of DVTs.

Special Procedures/Unit Details : The Vascular Surgery Progressive Care Unit (7500 PCU) provides monitoring and treatment of adolescent and adult surgical patients (typical age range is 18+ required, at times we have provided care to <18 years old when surgical services are not available at pediatric hospital). Patients may include any patient who does not require ICU care, but who requires a higher level of care than that provided on a general nursing division. Out of 26 beds, we can take up to 6 PCU patients at one time. Each patient on PCU status will have Philips monitor wheeled into the room providing continuous ECG, RR, BP (external and arterial), and SpO2 to both the nursing staff on the floor and an external telemetry monitoring department. Advanced medication infusions include heparin, bivalrudin, alteplase, amiodarone, phenylephrine, & nicardipine.RATIOS: 1:3-1:5 depending on acuity Special Equipment : Philips monitorPrism total lift machineEKG**** We are looking for candidates who rate high for cardiac and vascular pre/post operative surgical services.
