Activities Coordinator

Job TitleWorks directly with individuals with developmental disabilities by conducting group and individual recreation activities according to individual needs, capabilities, and interests.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below:Works directly with individuals with developmental disabilities by conducting group and individual recreation activities according to individual needs, capabilities, and interests.Determines and implements necessary precautions in exercising responsibility for the care and safety of individuals served.Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to identify and implement meaningful group activities with focus on emphasizing the preferences of individuals served.Provides instruction and guidance to staff regarding activity delivery methods and techniques daily as well as at staff meetings.Maintains and continuously amends curriculum binders for each classroom to ensure that varied and age appropriate activities are planned and conducted for individuals served.Attends continuing education courses as required.Performs other related duties and activities as required.None required.Minimum Knowledge and Skills required by the Job:Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, Two years' experience working with developmentally disabled adults including planning and conducting activities for this population.Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Valid driver's license in good standing, Car registration and vehicle insurance.Other Skills and Abilities: N/AOther Requirements: Travel as needed.Physical Requirements:Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.External and internal applicants, as well as position incumbents who become disabled, must be able to perform the essential job functions either unaided or with assistance of a reasonable accommodations to be determined on a case by case basis.
