Solterra offers employees: Competitive Weekly Pay Paid Time Off 401(K) Tuition Reimbursement Comprehensive Health Benefits including; Health, Dental, Vision Life/Disability Insurances Position Purpose The Asphalt Plant Maintenance Foreman is responsible for leading and supervising plant maintenance activities and participating in new plant installations, while maintaining the highest level of integrity and always working in the best interests of Solterra Materials, our employees, and our customers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs all duties and responsibilities with Solterra's Core Values at the forefront. Directly lead and supervise hourly plant maintenance crew. Ensure plants are properly operational and available for production. Operate plant and plant support equipment when needed. Help control plant maintenance costs. Implement and manage parts inventory system. Track and schedule yellow iron maintenance. Must be able to travel between plants, and other sites. Attend customer and industry related functions as required. Must be willing to work nights or weekends when it's in the best interest of the company. Any and all duties assigned. Safety This position is considered a safety-sensitive position and is subject to the company's drug and alcohol policy, as well as all OHSA and MSHA regulations. All employees must wear the appropriate personal protective equipment and follow all safety guidelines at all times as an essential part of their job responsibilities. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full time Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Flexible hours and work locations required. Supervisory Responsibilities This position is directly responsible for leading maintenance mechanics and is indirectly responsible for all employees within the maintenance crews. Travel Must be willing to travel to any and all job sites without exception (including staying away from home if necessary.) Physical Demands and Work Environment Must be able to operate vehicles and trailers in a safe manner, in compliance with local, state and federal traffic laws. Must operate equipment, machinery and other tools in compliance with safety guidelines and manufacturer specifications. Must be able to work outside, frequently for long periods of time in all weather, including extreme hot and cold temperatures. Must be able to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment in a variety of different situations. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to climb, bend, stoop, kneel and lift overhead. While working the employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines, and dust/debris. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education, Work Experience and Requirements A high school diploma or GED equivalent. Five (5) years or more of asphalt plant operations and/or maintenance related experience. Hands-on operating knowledge of asphalt plants, and all associated equipment. Working knowledge of the methods, materials, and tools used in the construction materials industry. Strong customer service skills; must be able to communicate effectively & conduct self professionally and be able to handle heated conversations with emotional intelligence. Must have strong mathematical skills and be able to perform complex computations for layout design and material requirements. Must be a critical thinker who proactively anticipates problems and is solution oriented in approach. Must be able to multi-task and keep well organized. Must be fluent in English, i.e., must be able to speak, read and write English. Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations A current driver's license.
